How to care for a jacket in winter
3 min read · Leather Jacket Co

Winter asks a lot of a jacket: wet pavement, salt, heaters and cold air. A few habits keep it looking tidy.
Think of it as wipe, hang, store.
Wipe
When you come in from the cold, wipe the jacket with a soft damp cloth. This clears off damp, dust and street marks before they settle.
Use plain water and a gentle touch. Skip strong cleaners.
Hang
Hang the jacket on a wide hanger so the shoulders keep their shape. Leave a little space around it so air can move.
Keep it away from radiators and hair dryers. Heat is hard on faux leather.
Store
If you have more than one coat, give each jacket room in the wardrobe. Crushed sleeves can leave creases.
The Women's Slim Fit Biker Jacket and the Men's Classic Biker Jacket both list this care on their pages.
A weekly habit
Pick one evening a week to check your jacket. Look at the collar, cuffs and hem, and wipe off any marks with a soft damp cloth. Empty the pockets so they keep their shape.
Rotate your jackets if you own more than one, so each has a day to rest on its hanger. Keep a wide hanger by the door for the jacket you wear most. Care notes are the same on every page. Browse the men's jackets collection or women's jackets collection.

No. Wipe it with a soft damp cloth instead.
What if it gets wet?
Pat it with a soft cloth and let it dry in the air, away from heat.

We suggest bringing it indoors, since cold and heat are hard on the surface.
