Faux leather (PU) jackets explained in plain words

Our name says leather, but our leather-look jackets are faux leather, and some pieces are plain polyester. We want that to be clear from the first click.

Here is what faux leather and PU mean, in plain words.

What PU is

PU stands for polyurethane. A PU jacket has a fabric base with a polyurethane coating, finished to look like leather.

On our pages the outer is described as faux leather (PU), and the lining is named where the maker states it.

What the label tells you

The label tells you the material the outer is made from and what it is lined with. For example, the Men's Classic Biker Jacket has a faux leather (PU) outer and a polyester lining.

It does not tell you how a jacket will feel or how it is cut. That is why we list the sizes and the fit on each page.

What it is not

Faux leather is not animal leather. It has a more even finish, and it is cared for with a soft damp cloth rather than special products.

We never describe a PU jacket as animal leather, and you can hold us to that.

Why people choose it

Many people choose faux leather for the look at a friendlier price. Our jackets start at $108 and go up to $233.
