Size up or stay true: layering guide

The question comes up often with jackets: should you go up a size?

The answer depends on what you will wear underneath.

Stay true to size

If you wear tees and thin shirts under your jacket, stay with your chest size. Read the fit line on the page first, since cuts differ.

Measure your chest over a thin layer and match it to the chart in our size guide.

Go up one size

If you plan to wear sweaters or hoodies under the jacket, go up one size. You get room for the extra layer without pulling across the back.

The Men's Classic Biker Jacket comes in S to 3XL, and the Men's Bomber Jacket in S to 2XL.

Between two sizes

Pick the larger one. A little room is easier to live with than a tight jacket.

Remember that sizes are not exchanged, so check before you order.

A quick test

Put on your thickest regular layer and try crossing your arms. If you can do it without strain, the size will work.

If it pulls across the back, go up a size.

Check the page too

Each product page lists the sizes and the fit where the maker gives one. The women's biker jacket is a fitted cut. The women's cropped bomber is cropped and relaxed. The Women's Faux Leather (PU) Blazer is a regular fit, and the Women's Long Trench Coat is long and loose. Read the line for your jacket before you decide.

Free US shipping starts at $35, and all sales are final, so we suggest you take your time with the size guide and a tape measure.
