Styling a blazer for work

A blazer is the easiest way to look finished at work. A faux leather one adds a little edge without trying too hard.

Here are three outfits you can build from things you already own.

Outfit 1: all black

Wear the blazer over a black tee or a fine knit, with black trousers. Add flat boots or loafers.

It looks sharp, and it is easy to put together on a busy morning.

Outfit 2: shirt and straight jeans

Layer the blazer over a white shirt and dark straight jeans. Leave the shirt collar out over the blazer for a relaxed finish.

This works well for casual offices.

Outfit 3: dress and boots

Wear it over a simple knit dress with boots. The single breasted, regular fit of the Women's Faux Leather (PU) Blazer keeps the shape soft, and the turn-down collar has faux fur trim.

It comes in khaki, in XS to L.

A few tips

Roll the sleeves once if they feel long. Check the fit in the size guide.

Use the size guide and size up if you want to layer a sweater underneath.

Wearing it through the week

Plan your outfits on Sunday. Pair the blazer with a different top each day, such as a white shirt on Monday, a black knit on Wednesday and a tee on Friday. Change the shoes, too.

Hang the blazer on a wide hanger at the end of the day and wipe off any marks with a soft damp cloth. It comes in XS to L. See the blazers and coats collection for the trench coat as well.

Questions and answers

Is the blazer too casual for the office?

That depends on your office. Pair it with tailored pieces for a more formal look.

Can I wear it with a skirt?

Yes. A straight or pencil skirt works well.

What color goes with it?

Black and brown pair with neutrals easily.
